K-124 UK Team Performances:

Report 1 - 21/04/09

The first rounds of the XC, Trials and BMX national race series have now all been completed with some excellent results for our riders.

At the first round of the XC series at Sherwood forest the K-124 UK team was missing Junior rider Luke Newby who was resting under the advice of his coach after a hectic Cyclocross season. This left national endurance champion Paul Simmons, who was entering the short course event for the first time, to get a good finish for Koxx XC. As a un-seeded rider in this event, Paul had to battle his way from the back of the field up the first fire road climb to put himself within reach of the top 5 going into the next singletrack section. Paul had got himself into an excellent position and was looking to move into 4th when he tore the side wall of his tyre on an overtaking manoeuvre which ended his race. Needless to say, he was not a happy chappy and will be more motivated then ever to get a good finish at the next event.

The first round of the Trials series was held at Bracken Rocks last weekend. The sections were long and technical with many riders struggling to complete the course in the designated time. After a steady first lap, K-124 UK elite 26" rider Stan Shaw produced 2 good laps to finish fourth only 1 dab behind third place. 20" elite rider Sam Oliver took the win in his class with an impressive display of bike control and power whilst James Sheridan took fourth place. In the intermediate class, K-124 UK riders Ryan Crisp and Chris Vibert finish first and second respectively.

The first and second rounds of the national BMX series were held at Derby on the 11th and 12th April. A relatively long track, this event certainly showed who had been training hard over the winter and who had spent too much time on the PS3! The newly formed Apachi / K-124 UK team had a mixed weekend with excellent qualification moto's from all riders but unfortunately they were unable transfer these performances into the semi's and final's. A good weekend nonetheless and a promising start to the season. The results were as follows:

Round 1
Johnny Stockwell - 5th (A-Final)
Julian Allen - 5th (B-Final)
Will Elsey - 3rd (B-Final)
Riess Harper - 7th (A-Final)
George Moret - 6th (A-Final)
Haydon Green - 7th (B-Final)

Round 2
Johnny Stockwell - 6th (A-Final)
Julian Allen - 1st (B-Final)
Will Elsey - 2nd (B-Final)
Riess Harper - 2nd (A-Final)
George Moret - 8th (A-Final)
Haydon Green - 3rd (B-Final)

Report 2 - 27/05/09

The East Anglia regional series round 4 took place at Peterborough on the 17th May.  The relatively fast track was made a bit more tricky thanks to pretty high cross winds and heavy rain showers.  Regardless of the conditions, the Apachi/Koxx team had another good weekend with the following results:

Johnny Stockwell - 2nd (A-Final)
Julian Allen - 3rd (A-Final)
Will Elsey - 2nd (A-Final)
Reiss Harper - 1st (A-Final)
George Moret - 3rd (A-Final)

The third and forth rounds of the national BMX series were held at Burnham-on-sea on the 23rd and 24th May. The weather was perfect and the technical track lead to some close racing and brave over taking manoeuvres (resulting in some spectacular crashes!).  The Apachi / K-124 UK team had an excellent weekend apart from Reiss Harper who had to pull out of the races after a heavy crash in moto 1.  Lets hope this moment is carried onto the next round at Perterborough in two weeks time! The results were as follows:

Round 3
Johnny Stockwell - 2nd (A-Final)
Julian Allen - 7th (A-Final)
Will Elsey - DNQ
Reiss Harper - DNS
George Moret - 2nd (B-Final)
Haydon Green - 3rd (A-Final)

Round 4
Johnny Stockwell - 2nd (A-Final)
Julian Allen - 5th (A-Final)
Will Elsey - 7th (A-Final)
Reiss Harper - DNS
George Moret - 5th (A-Final)
Haydon Green - 6th (A-Final)

Trials rider Ali C is now back on his bike after tearing the ligaments in his ankle.  He has been training hard and a 2nd place behind national Champion Ben Savage at the Trial of Wessex at the weekend is a promising return to competition.  Expect more to come from Ali on his trials bike but also watch out for him at other events towards the end of the year!

Report 3 - 11/06/09

The fifth and sixth rounds of the national BMX series were held at Peterborough on the 6th and 7th June.  Although the weather was a bit damp, the Apachi / K-124 UK team were more then comfortable with the track after racing here a few weeks ago at the inter-regional.  The weather didn't really improved on Sunday but all of the riders progressed through the moto's with ease. The results were as follows:

Round 5
Johnny Stockwell - 3rd (A-Final)
Julian Allen - 5th (A-Final)
Will Elsey - 8th (A-Final)
Riess Harper - 4th (A-Final)
George Moret - 6th (A-Final)
Haydon Green - 3rd (B-Final)

Round 6
Johnny Stockwell - 2nd (A-Final)
Julian Allen - 6th (A-Final)
Will Elsey - 7th (A-Final)
Riess Harper - 5th (A-Final)
George Moret - 5th (A-Final)
Haydon Green - 8th (A-Final)
